Maths4fun

Maths4fun are sessions I run in the local library during school holidays and are aimed at children at Key Stage 2.

This summer (2017) I shall be running weekly Maths4fun sessions on a Wednesday afternoon between 2:00pm and 3:00pm.
There will be:
Superhero Maths - times tables, division facts, addition and subtraction with a Superhero theme.
Maths Games - Zombie maths, Top Trumps, Found It!, Snakes and Ladders...maths in games form
Super Shapes - Shape bingo, shape hunt and symmetry in this session.
Maths Magic - Mobius strips, how to draw impossible shapes and some maths tricks...

Had a great week working with children in my local library in Brackley and also Middleton Cheney Library doing Gnasher's Doghouse. The children learnt the names of 2-D shapes by playing shape bingo, discussed what a net was and learnt the names of 3-D shape and then made Gnasher's Doghouse using the net provided. Next week we'll be kite making in Brackley and learning names of quadrilaterals and in Middleton Cheney we'll be making things that balance in strange ways.

BBC2 next week is Science week between 1 and 3pm They are showing BBC BITESIZE programmes between 1 and 2pm followed by The planets between 2 and 3pm for all the budding astronomers put there!
